Drunk On You This Summer

Loud hippie colors
The crash of the waves
The grainy sand

A gypsy headband
The light diffusing
above her head
Wavy tresses
kissing slender waist
Hard planes of chiseled jaws
Early morning scruff

Sexy piercings and deeply inked skin
Knotted fingers and juicy kisses
Tanned skin against beaded bracelets

Drunk on the bliss of freedom
Satiated sighs
Sharp intakes of breath
Munching on berries and bread
Coming alive to the weed by the bed

Sweet summer love
Fleeting moments
Quick to dissipate
There is finality in the goodbye
An understood period

But also the promise
Of never to forget.

  2. And it was only yesterday when Delhi summer broke its previous record by reaching a mercurial high of 47.8 while the lady on the radio extolled the virtues of having summer. Like mangoes, and all. Now you show me that grass is greener on the other side. Darn! I'm going back to the hills! :D
